We used to live in Queens and work at a bank/hedge fund in Manhattan. We realized we hated it so we quit.
We drove our Ford Escape to San Diego and worked building houses in Tijuana as year-long interns at Amor Ministries.
This year Andrew is working full-time for Amor and Joanna is getting her Masters in Social Work from SDSU.

There are various military checkpoints throughout Mexico that are like the Border Patrol checkpoints in the states - they ask you where you are coming from, where you are going, what you are carrying, blah, blah. But this specific one had a sign that spelled out their objectives in crystal clear English.
