When my siblings and I were young we used to have a pretty regular morning feeding routine:
We would gather ‘round the microwave as my mom defrosted mini Lender’s bagels for us. EVERY TIME they were ready she would get them out and they would be SO HOT that she would have to bounce them around from hand to hand, yelling “HOT TAMALES”, until they cooled down.We loved it.
I learned what an actual tamale is years ago, but I just revisited this memory now that I am surrounded by tamales on a regular basis. Mom, sorry to let you down, but mini bagels are nothing like tamales. They are way better.
