The Flavins
From 2007 to 2009 we lived in Queens and worked at a bank/hedge fund in Manhattan. We realized we hated it so we quit.
In August 2009, We drove our Ford Escape to San Diego and worked building houses in Tijuana as year-long interns at Amor Ministries.
After our internship Andrew worked full-time for Amor for 2 years and Joanna finally finished her Masters in Social Work from SDSU in May 2012.
Our journey is continuing back on the East Coast...as we relocate to our Jersey roots...this time in our Toyota Matrix.

Thrifty Thursday: I love lamp. And my mom.
Have you ever gone to a thrift store and seen all of the lamps just lying around? Do you ever wonder whether or not they work? Or if people even buy them? We used to. And then we took a chance and bought one…and it worked just fine! It cost $3. The lamp shade you see here was actually purchased at wal-mart for $10 or $15. That brings our cute little lampy to a grand total of $13 - $18. WOOP!
Also, how cute are my mom and I circa 1988? You can tell the year due to my mop of hair. I had to be 3…I looked like Mr. Clean from 1985 - 1987.
